How do I apply for Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK)?

UPK programs are available at some public schools and many NYC Early Education Centers (NYCEECs). To attend a UPK program for the 2015-2016 school year, children must turn 4 years old in 2015 and live in New York City.

The second round of the application period runs from June 22 to July 10.

You can check the list of schools that may have available seats for the current school year. The NYC Early Education Center Directory and the Pre-K Directory handbook provides a list and information about NYCEEC programs. The handbook is also available on Department of Education's website.

Availability may change, so contact the school or NYCEEC directly to check.
