Commissioner Molina presides over the graduation of new Correction Officers and swears in new members of his executive leadership team.

Correction Department Commissioner Louis Molina will preside over a graduation ceremony for 85 new Correction Officers on Friday, May 19th at 9 a.m. at the NYPD Academy, 130-30 28 Avenue, Queens. In addition, 3 Deputy Commissioners, 1 Chief Surgeon, and 11 Assistant Commissioners will be formally sworn-in to his executive leadership team at the ceremony.

“We are proud to welcome these new recruits to the Boldest family. They have received rigorous training from our instructors, and, for the first time, our recruits utilized the NYPD’s state-of-the-art academy for their many weeks of training,” said Commissioner Molina. “This is an important public safety partnership that will enhance the safety of our jails, our officers and staff, and people in custody.”

For the first time in history, this graduating class of Correction Officers utilized the training facilities at the New York City Police Department Academy in College Point, Queens. Their 12 weeks of training included time spent at the DOC Correction Academy, the police academy’s facility, and they will now receive an additional 8 weeks of field training inside the NYC jails in conjunction with veteran officers – where they will obtain critical hands-on experience.

In addition to the graduation ceremony, Commissioner Molina will formally welcome new members of his leadership team, including three Deputy Commissioners, one Chief Surgeon, and 11 Assistant Commissioners.
