Buildings Information System (BIS)

The Department of Buildings' Building Information System (BIS) provides the public with up-to-date access to Department data and information, including: Stop Work Orders, Complaints, Inspections, Application processing, etc.

DOB NOW

The Department of Buildings is moving to a new online portal, so be sure to look in their DOB NOW system if you can't find what you are looking for in BIS.


Geographic Online Address Translator (GOAT)

The Geographic Online Address Translator (GOAT) allows you to enter a New York City geographic location (e.g. an address, intersection, street segment, street stretch, block and lot or BIN) and returns back related geographic information, such as geographic orientation, City Services information, Census information, and Political boundaries. There is also a handy User Guide and Glossary to help with the wealth of data returned.


Report a Pothole in NYC

To be considered 'actionable' by NYC DOT a pothole should be at least one foot in diameter and three inches deep, typically a DOT inspector will check the pothole. If actionable, DOT will repair it. Report a pothole online.


NYC Open Data

NYC Open Data makes a wealth of public data, generated by various New York City agencies and other City organizations, available for public use. As part of an initiative to improve the accessibility, transparency, and accountability of City government, this catalog offers access to a repository of government-produced, machine-readable data sets. NYCityMap

NYCityMap is New York City’s online map portal. The application provides a wealth of information including the locations of schools, day care centers, senior centers, libraries, hospitals, subways, and more. This page is also a single access point to many of the numerous location-based applications on NYC.gov such as online property, building, statistics, and census information. The maps can be navigated either by entering a specific address or simply using zoom and scroll tools, similar to other online map applications. It also holds the first citywide aerial mosaic from 1924, explore the roaring 20's in NYC from above!


NYC OASIS Interactive Map

The Open Accessible Space Information System (OASIS) website provides a rich source of community maps for New York City -- free and all in one place. It helps nonprofits, community groups, educators, students, public agencies, and local businesses develop a better understanding of their environment with interactive maps of open spaces, property information, transportation networks, and more.
