Information for Qualitative Research Panel Participants

The Health Department conducts qualitative research is conducted on a regular basis. This kind of research is usually one-on-one interviews between a person and a researcher, or focus group discussions, where a group of people have a discussion with a researcher. Your participation in this research is appreciated, as it helps us understand and improve the health of New Yorkers.

The Qualitative Research Panel is a group of New Yorkers who are invited to participate in interviews and discussions. You may be invited to no more than one interview or discussion per year, and you may be invited to participate up to three times.

The interviews and discussions are intended to help the Health Department better understand the health needs of New Yorkers. Participants' answers will help the Health Department design better policies and programs.

Invitations to join the Qualitative Research Panel and to participate in interviews and discussions were sent to people who are a part of the NYC Health Panel and who agreed to be contacted again for future qualitative research.

All participant information is confidential. Research documents are kept on password-protected computers and accessed by a limited number of people. This project has been reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board, which is responsible for protecting the rights of study participants.
