Fire Department Rules are proposed and adopted in accordance with the Citywide Administrative Procedure Act, Chapter 45 of the New York City Charter. A proposed rule is one that is currently under consideration. The public is encouraged to comment on proposed rules.
By law, proposed rules must be published by NYC Rules. Below is a list of proposed Fire Department Rules currently under review.
