Who We Are

The Civilian Complaint Review Board has over 100 full-time civilian investigators. Investigators form the core of the agency's staff and lead the everyday functions necessary for fulfilling our mission. Investigators impartially review the thousands of complaints of police misconduct the agency receives each year, and recommend appropriate disciplinary action to the Board.

The Agency also has over 100 members of support staff, ranging from prosecutors to policy specialists. We are always looking for interested candidates dedicated to impartial and independent civilian oversight to join the team. Skills and Benefits of Being an Investigator

After weeks of thorough training, new investigators graduate into a squad led by an investigative manager. Each squad reviews complaints of misconduct from specific precincts throughout New York City. For this service, investigators receive:
