Jacqueline Gold - Assistant Commissioner, External Affairs

Jacqueline Gold joined the Department of Finance in 1990 and currently serves as assistant commissioner for the Division of External Affairs, where she leads a team of 35 that is responsible for the agency’s internal and external communications, including intergovernmental and legislative affairs, constituent correspondence, community outreach, and more.


Jackie and the External Affairs team are the external face of the department, ensuring that its policies and procedures are clear and comprehensible to the public. They are leading the agency through several priority strategic initiatives, including plain language and language access, increased outreach and enrollment opportunities for New Yorkers, and a robust legislative agenda with both the city and state government.

Jackie previously served as a senior adviser to the commissioner. She began her career at DOF litigating state and local tax cases, and has also served as the agency’s FOIL appeals officer. Jackie has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College and a J.D from New York Law School.
