Group Purchasing

The City of New York has contracted Essensa to be its official Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). GPOs leverage the buying power of their members by securing discounts on goods and services in a variety of categories such as office supplies, insurance, technology, elevator repair, food, and food-related products. This free service is designed to streamline the process of researching vendors; increase efficiencies by waiving the citywide three-bid rule for Essensa users; and increase savings on goods and services purchases, which can then be reapplied towards service deliverables.

Materials for the Arts

Materials for the Arts is New York’s creative reuse center that gives companies and individuals the opportunity to donate unneeded supplies, diverting material from the waste stream and providing it to thousands of nonprofit cultural organizations and public schools, free of charge. MFTA also offers events, workshops, and classes so you can experience how creative reuse can eliminate waste while giving nonprofits access to affordable arts materials.
