Permit Description

A permit is required to conduct a spraying or dipping operation utilizing flammable or combustible liquids or the application of powder coatings.

Cost of Permit

Conduct a spraying or dipping operation

  •  $310.00

Additional fees associated with spraying or dipping operation include:  

  • Filing fee for plans submitted to Fire Prevention Technology Management Unit for review.
  • Storage of flammable or combustible liquids utilized for spraying or dipping operations.

Inspection unit will review such fees at time of inspection.

Permit Length

A FDNY inspector will visit the premise annually and perform an inspection prior to permit expiration

Application Requirements

  • Department of Buildings approval of spraying or dipping operations
  • Plan review and acceptance by Fire Prevention Technology Management Unit

  • FDNY Certificate of Fitness: 
    COF C-30 (Supervision of Flammable and  Combustible Finishing Operations)
