Raul Pintos

Chief of Staff Raul Pintos joined the New York City Police Department in October 1990, and began his career on patrol in the 49 Precinct. He also has served in the 28, 30, 34, 49, 72 and Central Park Precincts, the Criminal Justice Bureau, Community Affairs Bureau, Police Commissioner’s Office, Patrol Borough Bronx, and the First Deputy Commissioner’s Office. He was promoted to Sergeant in October 1997; Lieutenant in June 2001; Captain in June 2005; Deputy Inspector in October 2008; Inspector in December 2011; Deputy Chief in March 2016, and Assistant Chief in July 2022.

Chief Pintos has served as the Commanding Officer of the 72 and Central Park Precincts, as well as the Office of the Chief of Community Affairs. He was also Executive Officer of the 28 and 34 Precincts, and Patrol Borough Bronx. Chief Pintos also served as the Executive Operations Coordinator to the Police Commissioner. Most recently Chief Pintos served as Chief of Staff to the First Deputy Commissioner.

Chief Pintos holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the State University of New York. He is also a graduate of the Executive Education Program for Senior Government Executives at the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Cambridge, MA, and the Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California.
