As its Inspector General, Squad 7 investigates mismanagement by NYCHA and its staff, breaches in tenant safety due to insufficient protocols and controls, vendor integrity, and contract and tenant fraud, including prevailing wage and improper billing, which wastes limited funds available to NYCHA and its residents. Squad 7 also investigates issues involving the Section 8 program, including landlords involved in the program. This Squad also investigates and makes arrests of individuals, including tenants and NYCHA employees who engage in violent and narcotics related crimes on NYCHA property.
