Squad 7/NYCHA

Squad 7 is the Inspector General for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). NYCHA is the largest public housing authority in the United States, with more than 600,000 tenants. NYCHA also does business with an extensive network of third-party construction companies, construction monitoring companies, and service providers involved in the building and maintenance of NYCHA properties. Squad 7 investigates and arrests those who engage in labor, tax and contract fraud which harms NYCHA and its residents. In addition, the squad investigates and arrests individuals who engage in violent and narcotics related crimes perpetrated on NYCHA property. Finally, Squad 7 supports NYCHA in its mandate to provide affordable housing through long term proactive investigations of systemic failures relating to operations and safety.
